Sisters with Voices is an all-girl American band consisting of Cheryl "Coko", Tamara "Taj", and Leanne "Lelee". Before signing with RCA in 1991, they sent out sample recordings.
The debut album of SWV was released in 1992. It received generally positive reviews. The album reached the top of the charts and was certified multi-platinum after its release.
They also released The Remixes in 1994. New Beginning was their second full-length release in 1996.
New Beginnings also received a platinum certification due to its popularity. Release Some Tension was their third studio release, published in April 1997.
The album featured big celebrities such as Missy Elliott Snoop dogg and Queen Latifah. The band broke up in 1998 after their fourth album A Special Christmas.
After SWV announced their break in 1998, Coko released Hot Coko. In 2006, after her marriage and the birth of her daughter, she released her debut gospel CD, Grateful. After reuniting in 2005, SVW started working on their new album I Missed Us. It was released on April 17th, 2012.
SWV also appeared in SWV Reunited - a reality TV show that portrayed their personal and collective lives. The program debuted on January 16, 2014. It ran for two seasons before being officially cancelled on November 6, 2018
