Laura Dern plays Susan "Sue", the 36-year old mother of four and an aspiring businesswoman who is Frank's spouse.
Kevin Murphy is played by Justin Long. He is the oldest child of the Murphy Family. He's 15 years old and has a dirty tongue. His dream is to become a singer. Kevin suffers from Aquaphobia due to a traumatic incident he had when he was a child. He came dangerously near drowning in the hotel pool. Kevin is still affected by this incident.
William "Bill" Murphy is the prepubescent child of the Murphys played by Haley Reinhart. He is targeted by several bullies in the series.
Haley Reinhart also provides the voice for young Frank Murphy.
Debi Derryberry portrays Maureen Murphy, a 10 year old girl who Frank refers to constantly as his "princess." She is a bright, inquisitive, and curious young woman who loves science. Her passions include physics and electronics, as well as spaceflight and engineering.
Maureen, a science fiction writer and reader, is also a fan of Lost in Space and Star Trek.

Vic Reynolds (Sam Rockwell) is a rich radio DJ of 30 who struggled with cocaine addiction. He used to lead a hedonistic life but he still respects Frank because he is married and has children and treats him civilly.
Frank, however, is unaware that he finds his sincere demeanour, and way of living annoying and irritating. The fourth season ends with his delivery. The relationship between him and his son shows him as a loving, attentive parent who is always looking out for him.
